At Fulcrum Therapy, we work directly with WorksafeBC to offer programs to workers, support their recovery and return to work plan.

We provide Physiotherapy and Chiropractic treatment services to workers at no cost so you can focus on your health and recovery without worrying about all the paperwork and cost of treatment.

Making a Claim with WorkSafeBC. How to Report and What to Expect?

  1. You must report your injury to your employer and WorkSafeBC within five days of becoming aware of the injury.
  2. A claim will be opened, and you will be provided with a claim number, which will be in pending status. WorksafeBC will cover the cost of your initial assessment with one of our providers. After consulting with us, they will decide whether to approve your case if deemed appropriate.
  3. Once your case is approved, we will contact you to help you book your future visits and work with you to ensure a safe return to work.

Note: WorksafeBC will cover only one type of treatment at a time. Therefore, you can receive only physiotherapy OR chiropractic at any given time. Exceptions can be made; however, this is at the discretion of your WorkSafeBC claims specialist.

WorkSafeBC Physiotherapy Programs

Here is the process of our physiotherapy treatment sessions for Worksafe BC related injuries:

  1. Your initial assessment is always covered by WorkSafeBC, even if your claim is pending.
  2. We are contracted with WorksafeBC, so you do not have to pay anything out of pocket, eliminating extra paperwork.
  3. You have six weeks or 15 visits with the physiotherapist, whichever is reached sooner.
  4. Your physiotherapist can ask for an extension if deemed appropriate.

WorkSafeBC Chiropractic Programs

Here is the process of our chiropractic treatment sessions for Worksafe BC related injuries:

  1. You do not need a doctor’s referral for treatment.
  2. You have a total of eight weeks worth of treatment with your chiropractor, typically 1x/week.
  3. Your chiropractor can ask for an extension if deemed appropriate.
  4. We will not charge you an extra user fee for chiropractic care at our clinic.

  1. What Happens If You Get Injured at Work in BC?

    Based on the information provided by the Government of British Columbia:
    If an employee is injured in the workplace, immediately submit a report using the Safety Incident Reporting Portal (Form 7).
    WorkSafeBC also requires immediate notification of:
    A major failure or collapse of a structure, equipment, construction support system or excavation. A major release of a hazardous material. Other serious mishap, such as multiple employees requiring first aid treatment.

  2. How to Report a Work-related Injury Claim in BC?

    There are three main ways to report a work-related injury claim to WorkSafeBC in British Columbia:
    1- Through Your Employer or Healthcare Provider:
    In most cases, your employer or healthcare provider will file the claim with WorkSafeBC on your behalf. This is the most common approach.
    However, it’s important not to rely solely on them.
    2- Report Directly to WorkSafeBC:
    You have the right to file a claim directly with WorkSafeBC, regardless of whether your employer or healthcare provider does.
