Carpal Tunnel Syndrome (CTS) is one of the most frequently diagnosed conditions of the wrist affecting the median nerve as it travels through the carpal tunnel. Compression of the median nerve at this site can irritate the nerve causing pain and discomfort for the individuals.

The definitive diagnosis of CTS is done by electrophysiological testing such as nerve velocity test. However, many orthopedic and clinical findings can also confirm this condition. Conservative therapy is very effective for treatment of CTS and can fully eliminate symptoms. In more severe of complex cases, surgery may be recommended.
